ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary Datuk Md Jais Sarday today reminded all component party machinery to help one another and abstain from sabotage.

“In the past, each component party only worked for its own candidates to win but this election everyone must work together to ensure a collective win for all.”

He said candidates needed all the help they could get from party machinery, including incumbents who did not wish to contest again in their constituencies.

“Leaders who decide not to contest again in this coming election should not rest on their laurels but should lend assistance to electoral candidates chosen by the party,” he said after attending a state special Exco meeting for the dissolution of the Johor State Legislative Assembly at the Kota Iskandar administrative office.

He said BN’s list of candidates would be finalised in the next few days and there would be a mix of old and new faces.

”Whoever is chosen is someone who knows the grassroots and can serve the constituency.”

Jais said the opposition was bringing in outside candidates but BN component parties were ready to face them on the election battlefield.
