JOHOR BARU: Police arrested a man who allegedly assaulted his wife's male friend at a petrol station in Taman Bukit Indah near here today (April 8).
Acting Iskandar Puteri police chief Superintendent Ibrahim Mat Som said the victim and suspect, 35, lodged reports after footage of the alleged assault went viral yesterday (April 7).
The victim claimed that his friend's husband had assaulted him.
Ibrahim said the man was arrested on Lebuh Kota Iskandar about noon today (April 8).
The suspect was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt and intimidation.
Ibrahim said investigations revealed the altercation stemmed from jealousy.
Earlier, footage of the altercation involving two men and a woman at the Petronas Bukit Indah petrol station went viral.
A man was seen assaulting another man, while a woman tried to drag the victim away.
Her action aggravated the alleged assaulter, who then allegedly landed several blows on her.
However, the woman did not lodge a report.
It is believed that the suspect was the woman's husband.
