KUALA LUMPUR: With the March 31 deadline for the Central Database Hub (Padu) around the corner, many took the opportunity to sign up on the website.

However, for Keluar Sekejap podcast host and former minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, Padu registration did not go so well.

Taking to Instagram, Khairy uploaded a screenshot of a popup warning saying that an account had already been created.

"So, finally got around to register Padu today.

As I was just about to register, it fell through. I have never registered before!" he wrote in an accompanying caption.

Khairy's post was then quoted on an X post by user @lamkanahraf.

"Reminder, don't go registering Padu with other people's identification card numbers. That is impersonation and identity theft.

"The mastermind behind Khairy's fake registration has already been identified. It's easy to track. to the person, good luck" @lamkanahraf, he claimed.

As of today, 8.79 million Malaysians have signed up with Padu and based on the surge in registrations the past week, the target of 50 per cent registration rate can be achieved by March 31.
