KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians online have voiced displeasure over a foreign national believed to be an Indonesian filling up a large jerry can with subsidised Ron 95 petrol.

The video that was posted on Instagram showed the incident taking place at a Petron fuel station in Teluk Pulai, Klang.

However, the date of the incident was not identified. The man, allegedly from Aceh, is seen being assisted by a station attendant, believed to be another foreign national.

The narrator in the video claims that the foreign employees at the station resell the subsidised fuel meant only for Malaysians in small bottles at a higher price.

Uploaded by user @info.pati.haram2, the video has garnered over 89,503 views with netizens frustrated over the lack of enforcement.

"There is already clear evidence. The police can't just turn a blind eye," says user @idasam49

"(Make it a requirement to) show your IC. Only the locals can buy subsidised fuel and petrol station owners should be punished," says user @yasminesafeeya05.

"We see people stealing subsidised fuel everyday like it's an occupation," says user @mohdrozz78.

The New Straits Times has reached out to the petrol station in question and is awaiting a response.
