JOHOR BARU: The Johor State Education Department officers have been directed to closely monitor school-related activities following an influencer's video that caused discomfort among viewers.
X handle @HidupBerbakti shared a video of an unnamed influencer who is alleged to frequently upload videos on activities and school students onto Instagram and TikTok.
The X user asked for the education department to ensure the influencer's postings were restricted, as it frequently painted Johor school students and school activities in an inappropriate manner and could cause negative speculations.
Johor Education, Information and Communications Committee chairman Norlizah Noh, who took to her X account, said the education department officers were instructed to monitor these activities.
She also said a comprehensive session in student management involving 11 district education offices representative, has been planned to address the issue.
Earlier an X user urged Norlizah to restrict the influencer's frequent visits to Johor-based schools, and posts on his social media platforms.
The 15-second footage posted depicted a female student cat-walking towards a male student and ended with her blowing him a kiss.
The boy's reaction and cheers from fellow students, were deemed inappropriate in a school setting.
