KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a man who hid and ran around in circles on the rooftop deck of a flat block in Shah Alam desperately trying to escape the authorities in the wee hours last night (Nov 11) has gone viral on social media.
The two-minute video uploaded on X showed the man, alleged to be a drug addict who had earlier broke into a flat unit, sending the police assisted by the Fire and Rescue Department on a wild goose chase for a few hours.
Captions on the video said the incident occurred at about 1.30am where the man tried to hide from the authorities for an hour before being spotted by residents.

Although the police had surrounded the building in a bid to capture the man, he was undeterred and pursued ways to escape by running around the water tank area and even climbing the roof of a unit.
After two hours, exhaustion hit him and he surrendered to the police but his pursuit to escape continued with him going on the roof and trying to break the tiles to enter a unit.
As the hours went by, more residents were alerted to the incident due to the heavier presence of more policemen and firefighters at the scene.
Shah Alam police said it will issue a statement on the incident.
