KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a young man helping an elderly lady selling vegetables by the roadside has inspired netizens to pay it forward.
The man, who goes by the name Bos Mel (@bosmel) on TikTok, touched the hearts of many when he offered to buy all the vegetables the lady was selling.
He approached the lady, who then explained that she planted the vegetables herself.
Among the vegetables on sale were long beans, water spinach, and calamansi limes.

She said she would normally sell each bunch for RM2, but if a customer bought three bunches, she would sell them at RM5, a discount of RM1.
Bos Mel then offered to buy all the vegetables at the price of RM34. The lady, however, wanted to give him a discount of RM6, making the total RM28.
Handing the lady an RM50 note, he said he would only take two bunches of long beans, and told the lady to give away the other vegetables for free.
Puzzled and in disbelief, the lady asked him: "Why are you doing this?" and refused to accept his money for only buying some long beans.
Bos Mel then insisted for her to keep the change and said: "Please take it. I'm sincere," he added.
The video garnered nearly 20,000 likes, with many TikTok users feeling inspired to be just like him.
Others, meanwhile, praised his generosity and said the world needed more people like him.
User @TinunturudAlice said "There is a saying that goes, 'I want to be so financially stable that God uses my pocket to bless others'."
Another user, @pelari_haluankiri thanked him for his kindness and for posting the video.
