KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has ordered the relevant authorities to give more attention to issues of traffic congestion and the development status in Cameron Highlands.

This comes as the area consistently attracts millions of tourists annually, both domestically and internationally, who seek to experience its distinctiveness.

"I'm here on a work visit to observe the area. I find this place beautiful and cooling, but unfortunately, the traffic is too congested. We hope to expand and widen the road network, while also ensuring effective traffic regulation by the authorities.

"Development also needs to be controlled and we cannot haphazardly cut hills or hill slopes. The concerns regarding water and electricity supply in this area must also be taken into account, and we must be prepared to utilise any necessary means to resolve these issues.

"I had the opportunity to visit Parit Falls (Eco Rimba Park). I urged the government to find new methods to preserve this heritage treasure. This is one of the important efforts that need to be implemented," he told reporters after attending the prize giving ceremony for the 26th Cameron Highlands Open Amateur Golf Championship 2024 at Sultan Ahmad Shah Golf Club today.

Al-Sultan Abdullah is in Cameron Highlands for a work visit in the district from Friday.

Also present was Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
