KUALA LUMPUR: No cracks were found on the structure of the Jalan Cheras flyover, said the Works Ministry.

In its social media posting, it said that the immediate on-site inspection conducted at 11.30pm last night by the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA), Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway concessionaire and a consultant found no cracks on the structure.

"It is just a black line which is a construction joint from previous concrete work.

"The consultant also confirmed that the highway portal structure is not affected and is safe.

"An inspection and safety verification report will be prepared and submitted to the MHA," read the post.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, in a post on X yesterday, instructed the relevant authorities to inspect the cracks on the structure of the flyover.

He also reposted a social media user who pointed out the "visible cracks" in the structure of the flyover.

"Are the cracks on the flyover getting wider?" asked the social media user.

The posting was accompanied by two pictures showing a comparison of the flyover in April and this month.
