MAKKAH: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has raised RM1 million from haj pilgrims and TH account depositors through the Santunan Kasih Baitullah programme between January and May this year.

The programme aimed at raising infaq (charitable spending), which will then be used to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of Malaysians performing their pilgrime at the Holy Land.

Malaysian haj delegation head for the 1445H/2024 pilgrimage season Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman said the programme provide opportunities for pilgrims and depositors to multiplied their 'pahala' (rewards) through performing good deeds.

"This programme aims to provide an opportunity for Hajj pilgrims to spend their wealth in the path of Allah through sincere charity (infaq ikhlas)."

"This contribution also serves to ensure the perfection of the implementation of the fifth pillar of Islam," he said.

He added that a portion from the fund was used to puchase 12 loudspeakers installed at each accommodation and tent during the masyair operation to facilitate the delivery of information with clarity and effective manner to all pilgrims.

Haj pilgrims and TH account depositors who wish to make contribution can peform a debit transaction to the Malaysian Haj Pilgrims Welfare Fund through the THiJARI application.
