PETALING JAYA: PKR will celebrate its 25th annniversary with a carnival which will feature exhibitions, a forum and various interesting activities at the Sentul Depot in Kuala Lumpur on May 11.

PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said the party would also hold a thanksgiving ceremony and a dinner to celebrate the sacrifices and contributions of members.

"The history of the establishment of this party, which began with various trials and tribulations until it matured into PKR's struggle and culminating in its involvement in the national government, will be presented in the form of exhibitions, forum discourses and other activities throughout the carnival," she said.

She said this at a press conference here, today, adding that they were targeting about 10,000 visitors to attend.

Nurul Izzah said in conjunction with the celebration, PKR will also work with government agencies to open mobile counters including payment counters for summons, ID card application counters and counters related to halal certification.

She said the carnival will also feature other interesting activities such as traditional folk games, performances by buskers and artists such as Aisha Retno, Kaka Azraff and Datuk Zainal Abidin, apart from  stalls by various local vendors. -- BERNAMA
