PETALING JAYA: Police are tracking down a man who stole mobile phones from an apartment in Kota Damansara while the owner was asleep.

District police chief assistant commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar@Ismail said a one minute and 22 second video clip of the incident was posted on social media, and checks showed the victim had also lodged a police report over the alleged break-in on April 30.

"The complainant claimed that when she woke up at 7am on April 30, she noticed that two of her mobile phones were missing and the house gate was ajar. A review of the CCTV recording showed a man entering the unit," he said.

Shahrulnizam said the police are tracking down the man who broke into apartment.

"The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code. Anyone with information on the case may contact the IPD Bilik Gerakan at 03-79662222," he said.
