KOTA BARU: Petronas makes a 17-year-old bone cancer patient's dream to visit KLCC Twin Towers come true by sending the girl to Kuala Lumpur today.

Siti Zubaidah Zulkefli, accompanied by her four family members depart to Kuala Lumpur on a flight from the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa.

The Form Five student of SMK Batu Melintan was diagnosed with stage two of bone cancer (right femur dester osteosarcoma).

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Siti Zubaidah said she was excited to visit the twin towers.

"It has been my dream to see the towers. Before this, l only watch them on television.

"Beside to visiting the Twin Towers, I also wish for a handphone to capture all the moments, which I will be getting one," said the youngest of three siblings.

Siti Zubaidah, who has been in the care of her aunt Inon Ahmad since she was 5 months after her mother's passing, said she has also her visit to Kuala Lumpur with teachers and friends.

"This is my first visit to the Twin Towers, and my friends and teachers share my excitement.

"I did not expect to receive this gift from Petronas," said Siti Zubaidah, who aspires to become a doctor.

Siti Zubaidah said she spent about RM1,500 monthly for travel and other expenses.

"I travel to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian three times a month for follow-up. Every time, we would rent a car for a journey from our home in Jeli to Kubang Kerian.

"I have been informed that Petronas will also bear my travel expenses. Thank you Petronas for all the donations," she said.

Petronas East Coast general manager Mohamad Ahmad Shazly Ramli said the donation was part of Petronas' 50 Years Festive Dream campaign where the company seeks to fulfil 50 dreams nationwide during the festive seasons throughout the year.

"Siti Zubaidah and her family will be brought to the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and several other places. They will be staying at a five star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

"We will also gift her with a handphone. We hope that she will capture all the beautiful moments while in Kuala Lumpur," he added.
