BALING: Strong winds wreaked havoc in Baling yesterday evening, leaving a trail of damages on 23 houses in six subdistricts.
Fortunately, none of the affected residents were injured in the 5pm incident.
Baling Civil Defence Force officer Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said 15 rescuers were dispatched to the affected locations upon receiving distress calls at 6pm.
"The affected subdistricts are Siong (four houses); Tawar (eight houses); Pulai (three houses); Bakai (two houses) and Teloi Kanan (six houses).
"The rescuers have helped to clean up to move away the uprooted trees that fell on houses and blocked the road.
"No injury was reported but we wish to remind the public to be on the lookout during the current unpredictable weather pattern," he said in a statement.
