KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has ordered all mosques in the state to perform the funeral prayer in absentia following the tragic crash involving two helicopters at the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Base in Lumut, Perak earlier today.

Comptroller Major General Datuk Mohamed Zahari Datuk Yahya, in a statement, said Al-Sultan Abdullah also conveyed his sadness and grief over the tragedy, which claimed the lives of 10 RMN personnel.

The Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, also expressed her sadness and grief.

"The crash killed 10 people, seven crew members and three passengers on the two helicopters, the HOM-AW139 and a Fennec (M502-6).

"The tragedy happened during fly-past training at the RMN Base in Lumut. Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the tragedy," the statement added.– BERNAMA
