IPOH: "He was a good man, and very friendly. He really took good care of his parents.

"They say the good die young"

These were the words to describe the late Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Amirulfaris Mohamad Marzukhi; by his uncle Mad Akhiir. Jamaluddin, 55.

Amirul, 39, was one of the victims killed in the helicopter crash.

Mad Akhir was met with his wife and family at the Forensics Department of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun here at about 8.30pm tonight.

Mad Akhir said he was in Ipoh when he received news of the incident.

He said he was shocked to hear the news.

"All the men were young, below 40 years old. They still had a lot more to give the nation, he told reporters.

Mad Akhir said Amirul left behind two children, aged 7 and 2.

Two Malaysian Armed Forces helicopters crashed today following a mid-air collision in Lumut, Perak.

The helicopters, an Agusta Westland AW139 Maritime Operations Helicopter (HOM) and a Eurocopter Fennec, collided during a mid-air manoeuvre during a flypast training for the Royal Malaysian Navy's (RMN) 90th Anniversary celebrations.

Following the collision, the AW139 HOM helicopter crashed at the steps of the Navy Stadium while the Fennec crashed near the pool of the Navy Sports Complex.
