KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd's Yayasan Hasanah has announced that Datuk Shahira Ahmed Bazari will retire from her role as trustee and managing director on May 1 after serving in that role for nine years.

The foundation board of trustee's chairman, Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, said Shahira left an enduring impression during her tenure.

"Her leadership and dedication are evident in Yayasan Hasanah's accomplishments. The body has evolved from a donation-driven CSR unit of Khazanah to an acknowledged philanthropic institution.

"We wish her well in her next endeavour," he said in a statement today.

Shahira joined the foundation in July 2015 following a distinguished nine-year tenure at Khazanah from 2006 to 2015, where she last served as director.

Under her leadership since its inception in 2015, Yayasan Hasanah's initiatives have positively impacted more than 2.4 million people across every layer of society, including vulnerable women, youth, refugees, people with disabilties and indigenous communities.

She played an instrumental role in transforming the social impact ecosystem with forward-looking approaches to philanthropy, social investments, impact measurements, and various social innovation models.

She is expected to assume a new role with Khazanah. A new Yayasan Hasanah managing director will be announced soon.
