THE Labuan Marine Museum, a treasure trove of marine wonders, opened its doors on Jan 26, 2003. It stands as Malaysia's pioneering marine life museum, nestled within the Labuan International Sea Sports Complex, thanks to the generous space provided by the Labuan Corporation.

EMBARKING ON A MARINE JOURNEY

Constructed between August 2001 and July 2002, the museum was a dream realised from plans birthed in the early 1990s. Its mission? To enlighten visitors about the diverse marine life in Borneo's waters, especially Labuan's, fostering a community that cherishes and preserves our aquatic heritage.

A VOYAGE THROUGH MARINE SPLENDOURS

Spanning two levels, the museum's galleries mirror the intricate design of a naval ship. Embark on a journey starting at the lower level, divided into four captivating sections. Here, you'll encounter a rich array of Labuan's local fish species, learn about the area's four notorious shipwrecks, and delve into the fascinating worlds of corals and fishes. The gallery is home to 14 aquariums, each a window to the underwater realm, plus a touch pool where the brave-hearted can meet creatures like sharks, king crabs, and stingrays up close.
