KUCHING: The Unity Government secretariat will meet on Wednesday to discuss allocations for opposition members of Parliament, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

This follows his meeting with Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders including opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, and Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee on March 19.

"I asked what they wanted, and he (Hamzah) said they wanted allocations and that they would leave it to the government to decide on the conditions (for the allocations)," said Fadillah.

"I told them I would take it (their request) to the Unity Government secretariat," he told reporters at a Hari Raya open house in Petra Jaya.

Fadillah said the secretariat will decide on the conditions for the allocations, as well as the amount given.

However, he said he was surprised at PN MP's claim that the opposition already received a "draft agreement" on the allocations from a representative of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"I am unaware (of the supposed agreement), I also received confirmation from the prime minister that there was no such document.

"If that is what they (PN) claim, they should just discuss the matter with the (so-called) representative of the prime minister, there is no need to discuss anything with me."
