KULAI: The Communications Ministry has handed over to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the actions of entrepreneur Datuk Aliff Syukri, who recently uploaded a controversial Raya song video.

Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching said, at present, the entrepreneur in question is being investigated for misuse of internet facilities.

"I am not sure what further actions will be taken by the commission.

"In the end, it is up to the MCMC as they can also enforce the Communications and Multimedia Act to conduct further investigations.

"The MCMC needs to refer to the Attorney General's Department to determine whether the case can be brought to court or not," she said after attending the Used Raya Clothes Project and Raya Aid Donation Programme at Block 3, Taman Putri Flats, here today.

Yesterday, the mobile phone and SIM card belonging to entrepreneur Datuk Aliff Syukri, who uploaded the Raya song video, were seized by the MCMC.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil was reported to have said that the communication equipment involved was sent to the Forensic Unit for further investigation.
