SUNGAI SIPUT: Two brothers, aged 17 and 13, were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a runaway four-wheel-drive along Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Kangsar here this morning.

The victims, Ahmad Zuhal Norazlan and his younger brother Ahmad Marikh Norazlan were on their way to their school SMK Simpang Beluru in Kuala Kangsar.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudin said the accident happened when the pickup truck which was heading towards Ipoh made a sudden right turn, colliding with the motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.

"They both died at the scene. Their bodies were sent to Sungai Siput Hospital for post-mortem," he said in a statement.

Khaizam said the police were searching for the driver and owner of the four-wheel-drive vehicle, who fled the scene.

He urged members of the public who witnessed the accident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Ahmad Kasidi Che Ghani, at 014-5073473 to assist in the probe.
