PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim glided serenely through the city's streets today, seated in a green hydrogen-fueled car as he made his way to the Prime Minister's Office.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang who was on board with him said Anwar found the car quieter compared to conventional cars.

"Anwar was very interested. His first impression was that it is quieter than a normal car.

"Anwar had also asked about the hydrogen ecosystem," he said briefly to reporters after the Mobile Hydrogen Refueling Unit (MHRU) and Toyota Mirai usage demonstration.

Anwar officiated the event and rode to the Prime Minister's office using the Toyota Mirai.

MHRU is a technology for refueling vehicles with hydrogen, replacing fossil fuels. It is also mobile, allowing it to be relocated to different locations according to current needs.

A Toyota Mirai is a Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) that generates electricity using hydrogen for propulsion, with water as a byproduct without any carbon emissions.

Chang said Anwar is kept in the loops of the developments of the hydrogen ecosystem in the country.
