JOHOR BARU: In a move to alleviate the financial pressures faced by B40 families during the school reopening for the 2024/2025 session on March 10, the Johor State Government has allocated RM2.8 million towards the "Bantuan Kasih Murid Johor" initiative, Media Digital Johor reported.

This inaugural effort is set to benefit approximately 11,200 primary and secondary school students across 56 state legislative assembly areas in Johor, from March 3 to 7. Each area has been allocated RM50,000 to distribute among eligible B40 families to cover essential school supplies, including uniforms, stationery, and bags.

The launch of the "Bantuan Kasih Murid Johor" was officiated by Johor Committee on Education and Information chairman Aznan Taminat the Pasir Gudang City Center Complex on March 3. This initiative underscores the government's recognition and appreciation of the significant challenges faced by low-income families, particularly in managing the costs associated with education.

By providing direct assistance for basic educational needs, the Johor State Government aims to ensure that children from B40 families can start the new school year on a positive note, equipped with the necessary tools for success.
