ALOR SETAR: Just hours after news regarding the disappearance of teenage girl Sofea Auni Adilah Sofan Feroza, 14, was published yesterday, her father shared the good news that she has been found safe and sound.

The teenage girl's father, Sofan Feroza Md Yusof, 45, said that after news of her disappearance was published yesterday (Feb 29), he received a call from a member of the public informing that his daugher was in Kepala Batas, Penang.

"Upon receiving the news, I immediately rushed there to Kepala Batas and arrived there at 6.30pm.

"When I arrived there, I found that at the time my daughter was there with a man.

"Worried that something would happen to Sofea Auni, I took her to the Kuala Muda district police headquarters for further action," he said when contacted earlier today (March 1).

Sofan Feroza expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all who helped to look for her apart from spreading the word about her disappearance and he is relieved that the youngest of three siblings has been found safe.

He then handed over the case to police to press on with the investigation.

It was reported yesterday that a form two female student was believed to have disappeared while on the way to the playground near her mother's house in Bandar Aman Jaya, Sungai Petani on Tuesday evening (Feb 27).

Meanwhile, Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Zaidy Che Hassan confirmed receiving a report regarding the young teenager being found.
