KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry (MOH) will focus on digital transformation and financing through the health white paper this year.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said this is among his priorities in carrying out healthcare reforms in the country.

"2024 is the year to implement this by identifying the focus and objectives of this white paper.

"My reform is based on two aspects, namely healthcare digital transformation including the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and healthcare financing system reform."

He said this after the launch of the collaboration strategy between KPJ Healthcare Berhad and Mayo Clinic, United States at Hospital Pakar Damansara 2 here today.

Dr Dzulkefly also said they are identifying suitable candidates for the technical working group to drive this agenda.

"There have been discussions about this. So that's the first step -- the most critical is to identify the team that will drive this forward.

"They must consist of highly capable individuals to carry out this agenda."

However, he said the implementation will take some time to build good momentum before making way for larger reforms.
