PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Board of Technology (MBOT) is encouraging graduates of National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes to register with the board to gain professional recognition.

In today's statement, MBOT announced that the decision was reached during a TVET Council meeting held on Jan 23, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also serves as MTVET chairman.

"During the meeting, MBOT presented a paper outlining the role of MBOT in empowering TVET graduates, and a consensus was reached that TVET graduates who have completed their training should register with the board," he said.

According to MBOT, the registration aims to enhance professionalism and elevate industry productivity by enhancing capacity and talent development.

"To uphold the quality of TVET graduates, they are strongly encouraged to enhance their skills and knowledge by actively participating in continuous training and development programs organised by MBOT or its approved training providers," he emphasised.

MBOT also invites all higher education institutions and public and private skills training institutions to register their graduates with MBOT as Qualified Technicians or Graduate Technologists.
