BATU PAHAT: Fishermen stumbled upon a man's body floating in Sungai Simpang Kiri, in Parit Kasim Laut, Tongkang Pechah, here, today.

They were unable to retrieve the fully-clothed body due to the strong currents but lodged a police report on the find.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah said the victim's body was later retrieved by the Penggaram Fire and Rescue Department.

The body was initially spotted at 11.30am, but had drifted towards Parit Sulong, also within Tongkang Pechah vicinity due to high tide, and was retrieved about an hour later.
