"The hospital was upgraded to a state hospital in 1942 and continued to grow with the development of the Specialist Clinic Complex in 1992 and in 2005, the Daily Treatment Complex was established.

"In 2017, this hospital was made the lead hospital for the Ipoh cluster as well as a referral centre for non-lead hospitals, namely Batu Gajah Hospital, Sungai Siput Hospital, Kampar Hospital and Bahagia Ulu Kinta Hospital," he said.

The complex offers health services from three departments which are the Cardiology, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology which is equipped with 404 facilities beds, six operating theatres and 304 parking lots for staff and the public.- NSTP/. Manimaran

"This complex was built at RM237 million on a site with an area of 14,671 square meters under allocations in the 10th Malaysian Plan.

"This is a large provision in the expenses of a hospital to ensure that health services can be implemented optimally to all Malaysians in general and the state of Perak in particular," he said.
