SUNGAI PETANI: Three soldiers were killed in a crash involving three army trucks and a lorry at Km77.5 of the Plus Expressway near Gurun today.
Guar Chempedak Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Fauzi Razali said firemen from the Guar Chempedak and Pendang stations were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 10.22am.
"Three five-tonne army trucks and an Isuzu lorry were involved in an accident at Km77.5 of the northbound Plus Expressway.
"The Isuzu lorry driver, who suffered injuries to his head and body, was rushed to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.
"Three drivers, in their 30s and 40s, of the army trucks died at the scene," he said in a statement.
