KUALA LUMPUR: Hours after being charged for failure to declare her assets in court, all Toh Puan Na'imah Khalid wanted to do was to head to the hospital to see her husband, Tun Daim Zainuddin.

Na'imah,67, did not want to take further questions from reporters and kept her answers short.

Asked on the condition of 86-year-old Daim, who was a former finance minister, Na'imah said it was personal information and she preferred not to share it.

She also did not want to say much when asked if she was concerned if there could be further charges, such as, against her children.

"It has been a long day and so I just give this statement and I would like to go back to the hospital because my husband is there."

After having her bail posted earlier, Na'imah said she did not commit the crime as per the charge and she will prove it in court.

Yesterday, Na'imah said the MACC had insisted for her to be charged today despite Daim's hospitalisation.

She had said MACC officers suddenly arrived at the hospital where Daim was warded and demanded to record her statement, despite having already taken one earlier on Jan 10.

She had asked for the charge to be done tomorrow as Daim was set to complete his medical procedure today. But, her request was refused.

She has said she will fight the charge.

It was reported earlier that the MACC's meeting with Daim was postponed after the latter was hospitalised.

A MACC source was quoted as saying that they had set a new date following Daim's hospitalisation.
