BANTING: Two members of a family were killed while another survived an accident involving five vehicles on Jalan Banting-Dengkil near Sungai Manggis here, this morning.

The dead was a woman in her forties and a 10-year-old girl, while the survivor is a woman in her twenties.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director  Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said he received a call about the accident at 7.03am.

He said, following that, a team of officers and members from the Banting and Telok Panglima Garang Fire and Rescue Stations rushed to the scene of the incident.

"The accident involved five vehicles, in which a lorry crashed into four vehicles namely two Honda City cars, a Perodua Bezza and another vehicle that could not be traced.

"The three victims were riding in the Perodua Bezza and were trapped.

"The first victim was successfully extricated at 8.45am and suffered from leg injuries.

"Two more victims including a child were extricated at 9.40am  and 9.45am, and were confirmed dead by a medical team from the Health Ministry," he said in a statement today.

He said all victims were sent to Hospital Banting.
