KOTA TINGGI: A clean-up effort following recent floods in Kota Tinggi, Johor has resulted in the successful collection and disposal of 90,000 kilogrammes of flood waste.

According to Media Digital Johor, the operation, which began on Jan 12, involved 130 members of the SWM Environment teams from Kota Tinggi, Iskandar Puteri, and Pasir Gudang.

The operation, it said, focused on flood-affected areas, including Taman Kota Jaya, Taman Mawai Jaya, and Kampung Kelantan.

"This initiative was part of a broader response to the recent flooding that severely impacted these communities.

"To facilitate the cleanup, 22 vehicles, including Roll-On Roll-Off (RORO) trucks and bulldozers, were deployed.

"This equipment played a crucial role in cleaning the residences of flood victims and was instrumental in extending the operation to the Mersing district," the statement read.

In addition to the waste collection, SWM Environment is also currently addressing the replacement of wheelie bins that were damaged or washed away during the floods.

This service is part of the organisation's commitment to fully restoring order and cleanliness in the affected areas.
