KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood victims continues to decline in the east coast as of 4pm today.

According to the Social Welfare Department's Disaster Info portal, flood victims in Kelantan have dropped from 13,827 to 10,315 people currently taking shelter in 29 temporary evacuation centres.

These flood victims belong to 3,204 families and have been placed in relief centres across four districts in Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Jeli, and Kuala Krai.

In Terengganu, flood victims dropped from 715 to 348 housed at four temporary evacuation centres in the district of Dungun.

Meanwhile, 133 flood victims from 37 families in Pahang are sheltering at five temporary evacuation centres across Maran, Bera and Temerloh districts.

In the south, the portal reported that two temporary evacuation centres were open, housing 54 flood victims from 14 families.

They are housed at evacuation centres in the district of Segamat.
