KOTA BARU: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in a statement today stated that it has restored power supply in Kelantan that has been affected by the floods.

The statement released at 10am this morning said that the power cuts involved several areas in the state.

"The electricity supply has been restored after flood waters receded and TNB's electricity installation in the areas were in a safe condition," said the statement.

It also stated that 45 areas in Kelantan are still not getting any electricity following the shutdown of their supply by TNB.

The areas include Gual Tambun, Degong, SK Kok Pauh, Banggol Kulim, Kubang Rambutan and SK Lubok Setol.

Others are Padang Nyior, Tanjung Erat, SMU Al Falah, Jeram Perdah police station and Bukit Lata.

"Efforts are being carried out to ensure that power supply in the affected areas can be channelled back in stages, depending on access and local conditions," it stated.

TNB then reminded the public to avoid stepping on wet areas if there are broken power cables or cables that have fallen on the ground or submerged in water.

"Always be aware of heavy rain and flood risk conditions. Stay away from electrical installations that are submerged in flood water because there is a possibility of current leakage," it stated.
