ISKANDAR PUTERI: Visitors to Puteri Harbour were recently shocked to see a large crocodile swimming among the boats here.
A visitor who only wished to be known as Maryam said that the large reptile was seen swimming near and around the boats in the area which is popular among locals, visitors and tourists.
She said that Perhilitan (Wildlife and National Parks Department) and the management of Puteri Harbour which also houses the international ferry terminal must act immediately for everyone's safety and well-being.
"We usually go to Puteri Harbour on the weekends because there are theme parks, recreational areas, restaurants and nice accommodation there.

"If there are any untoward incidents that happen, it could disrupt and adversely impact businesses there apart from damaging the image and reputation of the recreation area," he said.
Meanwhile, Johor Perhilitan (Wildlife and National Parks Department) director, Aminuddin Jamin said that they had received complaints regarding the wild animal's emergence and are carrying out monitoring and observations in the area.
"We have been made aware and continuous monitoring and observations together with the management of the area is being carried out," he said when contacted earlier.
The sharing of the video on the emergence of the large reptile on Instagram before this resulted in many expressing worry and concern with some even claiming to have seen not one but two crocodiles.
