KUALA LUMPUR: National broadcaster, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) took home the PRCA Malaysia Leadership Award 2022 at the Malaysia Public Relations Awards (MPRA) 2023, on Friday.

Its director-general Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman said the award was for the broadcaster's significant contribution to the nation's media landscape and outstanding achievements since 1946.

Suhaimi attributed the win to the collective efforts of everyone in RTM, from journalists, publishers, and others.

"The success today reflects their hard work and has been ultimately acknowledged by external organisations," he said during the event last night.

He also emphasised the interconnectedness of journalism and public relations.

"In successfully conveying a message, the method of delivery is crucial to ensure that the audience comprehends the message's objective.

"This is where journalism and public relations mutually benefit each other, particularly in enhancing communication and conveying messages to the public," he said.
