KUALA LUMPUR: Cops called former Umno information chief Isham Jalil to investigate allegations by a Pas member of parliament.

Kepala Batas Member of Parliament Dr Siti Mastura Muhammad is under investigation over allegations of purported familial ties between DAP leaders with Communist Party of Malaya (PKM) leader Chin Peng.

In a two minute and 24 seconds video uploaded yesterday, he said that the police are looking into the Barisan Nasional (BN) election material for the previous elections, at the time where he was yet to be appointed as the party's information chief.

He believes that the under-probe Siti Mastura might have said she issued her allegations based on BN campaign material.

He also said that the Umno and BN communications team are separate entities.

"Apparently Mastura said she got the information from a leaflet, a BN campaign material.

"But I do not think BN will issue a pamphlet like this," he said.

He also reminded and adviced her to check the facts and information before making any statements.

"Let the police investigate, tell them where you got it from," he added.

During a programme in Kemaman, Terengganu, she reportedly said several DAP leaders had ties with former Communist Party chief Chin Peng and Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore.

Several police reports were lodged and former finance minister Lim Guan Eng initiated legal actions against her for the allegations.

She is under probe under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
