KUBANG PASU: A Temporary Flood Relief Centre (PPS) has been activated to shelter 43 people from 11 families in Malau after their homes were inundated by flood yesterday. .

Kubang Pasu Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Mohd Adenin Suhaimi said the SK Malau PPS was activated at 10.25pm yesterday to shelter the affected families.

"The APM received public reports about a flood incident affecting the three locations in Malau namely, Paya Tok Keong, Paya Tok Teh and Kampung Biak at around 5.30pm yesterday.

"One PPS was activated to shelter the victims yesterday. We have advised all those affected by the flood to evacuate to the PPS," he said in a statement today.

Adenin said all evacuees were not allowed to return home as flooding persists.

"Currently, the flood water is still rising," he added.
