A cosplay event also drew scores of fans, with 12 people showing off their best costumes based on different anime characters.

One contestant, Fazril Shazriq Mahmud, 36, who came as the character Tanjiro Kamado from the Demon Slayer series, was excited at being able to take part in KJH this time around.

A cosplayer since 2021, Fazril said it was a new experience for him to be able to show off his costume and acting to the public.

"More often than not, the cosplay community would only hold events limited to our own circle but this time, we've been given the opportunity to showcase our interest to the general public.

"This has boosted our confidence and can give us a bigger platform to show off our creativity," he said.

KJH Johor, which ran for three days from Friday, ended today.
