KUALA LUMPUR: Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has urged Langkawi MP Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah to acknowledge his sexist remarks and called on Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to take disciplinary action.

The sexist remarks were made by Mohd Suhaimi towards Lim's colleague, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok yesterday in the Dewan Rakyat.

According to Lim, Mohd Suhaimi 's conduct was a letdown from a public representative who is expected to be a positive role model for the community.

"Every religion also teaches good manners and the importance of maintaining decorum and decency.

"I also demand that the President of Bersatu, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, take disciplinary action within the party against Mohd Suhaimi for his inappropriate actions," he added.

Yesterday, during the Dewan Rakyat session, Teresa Kok inquired about the dress code whether shorts were allowed in Langkawi to Mohd Suhaimi

Rather than providing a straightforward response, his reply was laced with sarcasm, accompanied by a gender-biased comment, insinuating that it wouldn't make a difference even if she chose not to wear anything at all.

The sexist comment elicited boisterous laughter from the male members of parliament who were present.
