KUALA LUMPUR: The unemployment rate in the country stood at 3.4 per cent as of August, the lowest and nearest to the pre-Covid performance.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in unveiling the national 2024 Budget said it was one of the indicators that Malaysia was on the right track in its economic recovery.

"Malaysia remains a destination of choice for foreign investors. For the first half of 2023, we had attracted investments totalling RM132.6 or over 60 per cent of the projection this year.

"The 2024 Budget or the second Madani budget showed the unity government's commitment in empowering the people's economy," he said.
