KUALA LUMPUR: The Supply Bill 2024 (2024 Budget) was tabled for the first reading in the Dewan Rakyat, today.

The bill, which seeks to use a sum of money from the Consolidated Fund for services for the year 2024, was tabled by Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

"The second reading of the bill will be done on Friday, Oct 13, 2023," he told the Lower House, today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is Finance Minister is set to carry out the second reading of the bill at 4pm on Friday.

Following the second reading of the bill, the house is scheduled to debate the bill at the policy level for six days, and at the committee level for 10 days before being brought to Dewan Negara.

The 2024 Budget will be the second national budget by the unity government after the revised 2023 Budget with a total expenditure of RM388.1 billion that was tabled in February.
