KUALA LUMPUR: Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the SSP1, SSP2 and SSP3 water treatment plants, that were forced to be shutdown earlier, have resumed operations at 4am today.

However, Air Selangor said unscheduled water disruption and low water pressure are still expected at some areas in Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor.

"The list of affected areas is being updated and will be announced soon," it said in a statement.

Earlier, the company announced that the three water treatment plants had to be temporarily shutdown after an odour pollution incident was detected at Sungai Selangor.

On another matter, Air Selangor said the asset upgrading, maintenance and replacement works at Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant, which was announced on Sept 26, have commenced at 9am today .

"The asset upgrading, maintenance and replacement works are expected to be completed at 7pm today.

Water supply will be distributed in stages to consumers once the water supply distribution system has been stabilised."

It said water supply in all affected areas of Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat regions is expected to fully recover by noon on Thursday (Oct 12).

"The duration of the water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location and distance of consumers' premises.

"Air Selangor has mobilised water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics and dialysis centres and funerals."
