LUMI NEWS will provide Malaysians with comprehensive coverage of the upcoming state elections, from campaign updates to poll-day results.
With its easy-to-use app interface, Lumi News brings a few new features to help users stay up-to-date on the election buzz and news.
IN-APP CHAT FEATURE
With this new interactive tool, users have the freedom to express their political takes and stay engaged with all state election updates as they wait for the results.
Lumi News chief executive officer Judith Yeoh, said: "News is meant to be shared and discussed, and our Chat feature is the first step in a direction that will make Lumi News more social and bring communities closer around news."
Users will get the chance to converse with politicians such as Syed Saddiq and Hannah Yeoh. Among other notable profiles include veteran news anchor Charles Mohan.
The app also allows users to customise their username, display name and choose their preferred Lumi character to set up their profile.
EXCLUSIVE LIVESTREAMS AND CONTENT
Those who want to be on the radar with contesting parties and coalitions in the days leading up to PRN23 will be able to watch livestreams of key ceramah videos on the app.
During the broadcasted livestreams, users can engage with each other through the Chat bubble found in the Videos tab.
Lumi News growth marketing manager Fildzah Zulkifli, said: "The team at Lumi News understands how critical campaign roadshows are to candidates in every election. This is their time to sway voters. So, we are excited to be hosting leading ceramah videos from the unity government and opposition parties across all six states for everyone's convenience."
Users can find exclusive News Stacks published by some of Malaysia's most prominent political figures, including Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Rafizi Ramli, Hannah Yeoh and more.
This feature reveals what political personalities are advocating, their thoughts, track records and much more. Politicians will also create their own News Stacks, which are translated into English, Malay and Mandarin, before being published.
Besides that, the app enables users to also customise their notification settings. They can choose to receive breaking PRN23 news on their states of interest.
STREAMLINING POLL DAY RESULTS
PRN23 will see a total of 245 contested seats across Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, Penang and Terengganu.
With the Lumi News app, users can stay updated using two main displays on the Elections tab: Detailed and Overview.
The Detailed tab gives an in-depth breakdown of the vote count per party, while the Overview tab provides a bird's eye view of which coalitions or parties are leading in the different states.
There will also be a Race View with Lumi's bar graph and emoji, showcasing which party heads the fastest to victory.
All three views will be updated live, so users will not have to constantly refresh the page.
Those who are on the go can customise their notifications to select the states they are interested in following.
