KUALA TERENGGANU: The mother of Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, Tengku Besar of Terengganu, Fatimah @ Sharifah Nong Alsagoff Abdillah, passed away at 3.17 this morning.
Comptroller of the Terengganu Royal Household, Datuk Mohd Sophian Abu Bakar, in a statement said that the remains of Tengku Besar of Terengganu were flown from Kuala Lumpur to Terengganu on a special aircraft at 2 pm.
Her remains will then be brought to Istana Al-Muktafi Billah, to enable family and relatives to pay their last respects, before the funeral prayers and burial at Al-Muktafi Billah Shah Mosque Royal Mausoleum in Ladang, at 4 pm.
Sultan Mizan consented to a five-day mourning period and tahlil sessions to be held for five consecutive nights at Istana Syarqiyyah, starting tonight. –BERNAMA
