ALOR STAR: Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub will be laid to rest at his hometown in Pontian, Johor at noon tomorrow (July 24).

His press secretary Syakirin Husnal said the public may pay their last respect to Salahuddin at his mother's home in Kampung Serkat, Tanjung Piai from 7am.

She said the body would then be taken to Salahuddin's home at TL7, Jalan Adil, Serkat in Pontian at about 10am.

"The funeral prayers will be held at Masjid Jamek Dato' Hj Noh Gadot, Serkat in Pontian at 11am followed by the funeral ceremony in Jalan Sulong Cemetery at noon," she said in a statement.

Salahuddin, 61, passed away at 9.32pm at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after undergoing surgery to treat brain haemorrhage yesterday.

He was rushed to the hospital at 10.15pm on Friday, after developing nausea and vomiting.

He had arrived in Kedah on Friday morning to attend several programmes prior to the incident. His remains to be flown by an aircraft to Johor after midnight for funeral arrangements.
