SUBANG JAYA: A man who flew into a rage at a restaurant after being called 'pakcik' instead of 'abang' or 'baby' was arrested by police in Batu Caves, Gombak, this morning.

The 50-year-old unemployed man was taken into custody at a self-service launderette at 1am.

Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the suspect had a criminal record.

"The cases involved cheating, obstructing a civil servant from discharging his duties, and making threats.

"The suspect has been remanded for four days until Tuesday," said Wan Azlan.

The incident happened at a Putra Heights restaurant on June 6.

A video captured the moment a restaurant employee handed food and drink to the suspect, who became enraged when his request to be called 'abang' or 'baby' was ignored.

He threw the food and drink.

The video also showed the man acting aggressively, shouting, throwing chairs and a table, threatening diners, and causing a public disturbance.
