JOHOR BARU: Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar granted an audience to Indonesia's Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto at Istana Bukit Serene today.
Subianto and the ruler share a long-standing friendship spanning over 40 years since their military training days at Fort Bragg and Fort Benning in the United States in the 1980s.
The Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim accompanied his father in the meeting, which lasted for over an hour.
Sultan Ibrahim and Subianto took the opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest, including defence and security cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia. The ruler also hosted a midday banquet.
