SERDANG: The Home Ministry will withdraw its appeal against the High Court's ruling allowing non-Muslims to use the word Allah and three other words for educational purposes.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this was the ministry's position and he had informed the cabinet of the matter.

"I presented a note to the cabinet a few months ago.

"A note is where you inform the cabinet about the ministry's decisions," he said after the ministry's Hari Raya Madani celebration here.

Saifuddin said he would comment further on the matter at a press conference tomorrow.

Earlier today, senior federal counsel Shamsul Bolhassan, in confirming this, said the ministry and the government filed the termination notice on April 18.
