KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed that there are four more Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) trainees who claimed to have been beaten in a bullying incident on April 12 at the Kuantan Air Base.

The four trainees, who underwent the same training course as the trainee who claimed to have been bullied recently, said they were beaten by senior RMAF personnel when they were called to assist with the investigation of the bullying case.

Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said, at this time, further investigations are still being carried out by investigating officers including obtaining medical reports.

"The investigation so far also found that there were four other trainees who were beaten in the incident.

"So far, six suspects have been identified and have been summoned for investigation purposes, as they are suspected of being involved in this case," he said when contacted by Berita Harian today.

Ramli said the police also recorded statements from independent witnesses, along with obtaining full medical reports on the victims who claimed to have been bullied to facilitate the investigation.

"Once the investigation has been concluded, we will refer this to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office for further action, in accordance with the provisions of the existing law," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

Recently, the bullying case was revealed in a viral Twitter thread by @ummiiiiinmo, who claimed her brother was a victim of ragging while training at the base.

Among the attacks the trainee reportedly received were whipping using a rubber pipe, being bitten on his ears, being stripped naked, and being beaten by the seniors.

In the thread, she also claimed that one of the seniors had an "insider" who could protect him from any actions.

One of the seniors posted a picture of the group on WhatsApp with the #kamitaksalah (we did not do anything wrong) and this was noticed by the victim who then told his sister about the matter.

The sister claimed that the seniors had completed their courses and returned to their bases in Subang, Labuan, and Butterworth.
